On 30th May, thousands of music lovers from Norwich and Norfolk head to Suffolk as something of a pilgrimage, to the truly excellent Red Rooster Festival. Here's all you need to know...

So what’s all the fuss?

Red Rooster Festival is the UK’s finest blues, soul, roots, Americana and country festival and is just across the border in Suffolk.

When is it?

Thursday 30th May - Saturday 1st June

Where is it?

Red Rooster takes place in the stunning grounds of Euston Hall, Suffolk.

Getting there from Norwich.

Euston Hall is a 45 minute drive away and just off the A11. For those using public transport, it’s a short train ride to Thetford and a £10 taxi to the festival.

So who is playing?

There are literally hundreds of great acts playing over the course of the festival with the Budos Band, Nick Lowe & Los Straight Jackets and Jarrod Dickinson to name but a few.

How about the dance tent?

Some line up this year! Andrew Weatherall, Jon More (Ninja Tunes & Coldcut) + Ashley Beedle & Jo Wallace take to the decks of this much-loved riverside spot.

What’s the site like?

It’s absolutely beautiful! It’s part of Euston Hall’s historic landscaped gardens with lakes, waterways and ancient broadleaf woodlands.

And the set up?

Basically there are 5 different areas, all connected by a series of short scenic walks. The main stage is set in a woodland glade which is a tree-lined stroll to both the dance tent in one direction and the lakeside acoustic stage in the other. Nothing is far away and it’s just another quick walk to both the food and retail area and the adjoining camp sites too.

Is Red Rooster family friendly?

Sure is! Not only is there a dedicated family camping area, lots of activities and space to run around in, tickets for 12-year-olds and under are absolutely free!

Any other highlights?

Plenty! The food vendors and bars are really good (with cocktails too) and the general vibe of the festival is very friendly indeed. If you want a break from the music there’s loads of space for woodland walks or dosing beside the waterways. There are also large communal bonfires throughout the site, where impromptu gigs and sing-alongs commence.

Can you bring your own booze?

Unlike other festivals, you are welcome to bring as much of your own booze as you like in to the campsites, but no alcohol is permitted in the event arena.

How much does it cost?

Weekend tickets are £69.50 + booking fee per person and includes camping and parking too.

Don't miss out!

Red Rooster Festival opens at 4pm on Thursday 30th May. Tickets, full line up and additional info at www.redrooster.org.uk

Hopefully see you there!
